In 1977, the Government of United Andhra Pradesh sanctioned the establishment of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG Center in Srikakulam district under Andhra University. The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar PG Center was converted into Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam in 2008. The restructuring of the Universities based on the recommendations of National Knowledge Commission New University named by converting existing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar PG Center into Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam in 2008 in 168 acre campus. The university currently offers a variety of diploma, PG diploma, UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs in its three constituent colleges. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the teaching-learning process and the holistic development of students. The faculty members have Ph.D. degrees from prestigious institutes in India and abroad, with experience in reputed institutions worldwide. At present offers 01 Diploma, 03 PG Diploma, 07 UG and 23 PG and Ph.D programmes in all the departments of three constituent colleges.
